Appreciation, courage, self care, and community: a NYC Paramedic’s perspective on COVID-19

Paramedic and NYCMedics Operations Director Phil Suarez has assisted in rescue efforts following the September 11 terrorist attacks, worked on the frontlines in war zones and disaster sites, and has 26 years experience an EMT in New York City. A consultant to the World Health Organization, Suarez sat down on a Zoom call with the The Westword and the Communications/Journalism class to discuss his experiences and his outlook on the future of the pandemic.
