This spring break, Westhill students will have the opportunity to travel to one of three vacation destinations.  Students will be able to choose from Italy, France, or the Galápagos Islands; each trip is a unique experience with each molded to certain interests.

For students interested in art and history, Italy is the place to go. On this trip students will begin in Venice and work through seven cities all the way to Rome. Through this ten-day experience, students will have the opportunity to visit museums, meet up with Italian high school students, and indulge in the wonderful food Italy has to offer. Mrs. Konrad and Mrs. Costa Weller will be running the trip.

Mrs. Konrad, who’s been to Italy before says,“It is a huge part of the art history curriculum, you put the art and architecture of Italy into context when you go with someone whose area of expertise is the language and the architecture.” The price is around $3,500. For the full itinerary and more information, visit Mrs. Konrad, the head of the art department or Mrs. Costa Weller.

The Galápagos is the perfect trip for someone who is up for an adventure and interested in the outdoors. On this trip, students can expect to participate in many different outdoor activities such as snorkeling and hiking a volcano. Ms. Fabre, who will be attending the trip says, “It is going to be a once in a lifetime experience. It is also going to be an amazing learning experience that will be great especially for students who want to experience studying abroad.” Mrs. LaBonte, a photography teacher, will also be accompanying students on the trip. The price is around $3,000. Visit Ms. Fabre or Mrs. LaBonte for more information.

Paris is the perfect trip for students who are not only interested in the French language but also in visiting iconic sites such as the Eiffel tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and Château de Versailles. Mrs. Herz, the head of the language department says “it’s going to be an amazing trip to Paris with a couple of side excursions. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore an amazing city, see some art and make some friends.” The price is around $2,800. See Mrs. Herz for the full itinerary and more information.
