On December 14, 2021 an email was sent to all Juniors at Westhill Highschool by Jennifer Bartlett. It said that by December 23, all students who own a car and bring it to school will need a new parking pass and need to see Mrs. Bartlett to get it. The students will not be allowed to park in a parking spot if they do not get a new parking pass. If they are found in a parking spot without a parking pass then there will be consequences. Announcements have been made on the loudspeaker stating that students need new parking passes in order to have a designated parking space, and if they are caught in a parking spot that is not theirs or does not have a parking pass at all, their car will rent a warning sticker. It was also announced that if this incident keeps happening, the car will be towed.
“I like the new parking policy because this way no one can steal my spot and make me have to park all the way down the lot. Hopefully it is effective and keeps people parking in their own spots.” said Cadence Jagodzinski (23’)
In other words, kids keep on taking each other’s spots. According to the student the parking passes seem like a good idea because as a result, people will not be taking each other’s spots. The students have a hard time getting a parking spot in the morning. This new parking pass policy can help many students be able to get to their spot with no problems.
