On April 25th, 2017, the Board of Education voted unanimously to elect Mike Rinaldi as the next principal of Westhill. Mr. Rinaldi has been with the district since 1987, and was a graduate of Westhill. He is currently an assistant principal at Rippowam, and has also taught at Northeast.
Rinaldi has had administrative experience at all levels (elementary, middle, and high school) and was praised by many Board members in attendance. “Mr. Rinaldi has influenced so many lives, it’s insane,” said board member Antoine Savage.
Rinaldi looks forward to coming back to the place where it all began for him as a student. “I look forward to going back to the very place where I discovered my passion for the work I do every day,” said Rinaldi as he held back tears. Rinaldi went onto describe how honored he is to receive his new position. “It is the honor of my life,” said Rinaldi. We look forward to Mr. Rinaldi’s passion, experience and know that no matter what, we are, as Nico, Mr. Rinaldi’s son said “Westhill and Proud.”
