On Saturday, November 21, Westhill’s Marching Band delivered 77 pies around the school community to fundraise for their growing team. “We sold pies for about $16. Cream pies and berry pies were being sold,” said Gregory Penn. He also added, “The pies were frozen and were delivered on Saturday, in time for Thanksgiving.” According to junior Jacob Stockman, the sales ended in October. The marching band depends on these sales to help finance their team for next season’s expenses.
These fees include bus trips to and from their competitions, and simple unexpected costs that may come their way. The marching band has been known to participate in national competitions held by U.S. Bands and Mac Bands. The band hopes these sales will be significant enough to cover next year’s experiences.
