CaribbeProm, Westhill’s prom for “all grades” is tonight, Friday the 11th. Students who bought tickets to the event are asked to be there at 6PM, the event ends at 10PM. There will be a wide array of unique and diverse food such as Oxtail, sweet plantains and Jamaican rice. There will also be a vast collection of Reggaeton, Calypso, Salsa, and Merengue music being played. DJ’s will be Westhill’s own Mr. Celcis, also known as ‘Nemesis Alpha’ and Mr. Wooley, or ‘DJ Othello.’ The event will be held in the Finch cafeteria, known for the night as “Club Caribbe.”
“The prom is a good cause because it is for charity,” said Mr. Celcis, an English teacher at Westhill. “It is a way to benefit the people of Puerto Rico,” he continued. Food for the event is bring donated by local restaurants and teachers from the Westhill community. According to the school website, students are asked to “dress to impress.”
CaribbeProm will donate the money raised to the people of Puerto Rico.
