This past week, a total of seven soldiers and officers in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) visited Westhill and the Stamford community. The soldiers spoke about daily life in Israel, mandatory military service and the threats their country faces every day. This special program, called the JCC Tzahal Shalom program allows people to connect with the people of Israel, strengthen the unity of Jewish population, facilitate community-wide Israel education, and build long-lasting relationships through face-to-face interactions. The Tzahal program, tasked with creating a deeper understanding and connection with the people of Israel, is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
